However, the exact date that the venue will close has not yet been revealed.

The reason for the closure is also unclear.

But they thanked their loyal customers in a touching post on Instagram.

It may not all be sad news though, as they teased a “new part of their journey” soon to come.

In the post on Thursday, the owners wrote: “Attention Edinburgh ikigai lovers!

“We’re sad to say we’re closing down our first ever ikigai ramen located at West Crosscauseway.

“We want to thank our loyal customers for all your continued support and dedication to us and hope you join us on the next part of our journey!

“See you soon!”

The post quickly racked up more than 160 likes and comments.

Fans of the restaurant flocked to the comments to share their disappointment at the news.

One person said: “Sad, you guys are the best. Best of luck on your new journey!”

Another added: “Noooo, when are you closing? I need to get in before the end.”
