McLaren’s ‘most extreme road car’ with 200mph top speed & just five miles on the clock up for sale after huge price drop

MCLAREN’S “most extreme road car” with a brutish top speed of over 200 mph is ready to be sold at an auction – after a huge price drop.

The stunning supercar, which is one of just 149 ever created, is set to go up for sale in May with interest “anticipated to be extremely high.”

This particular Elva boasts chassis number one – meaning it was the first to roll off McLaren’s production line[/caption]

Built in 2022, this McLaren Elva – with an exact top speed of 203 mph – boasts a unique opportunity to a wealthy enthusiast looking to buy a piece of the brand’s history.

With chassis number one, it is indeed first ever Elva to roll off of the British brand’s production line.

Finished with a plush, matt grey colour, the super-fast set of wheels has a four-litre, twin-turbocharged 804 bhp engine that can hit 0 to 60 mph in a staggering 2.8 seconds.

The previous owner, who reportedly spent an additional £77,000 on various add-ons, seemingly didn’t use it very much – as it comes with just eight kilometres on the clock or the equivalent to 4.9 miles.

What’s more, its value has dropped significantly in just two years – as the Elva was originally priced at £1.42 million from new in 2022.

But it is now being sold at auction by RM Sotheby’s with a guide price of between £939,000 and £1.28 million.

This shows a price drop of up to £481,000.

A RM Sotheby’s spokesperson said: “One of the standout early consignments for the sale is the 2022 McLaren Elva.

“The lightest, most extreme road car McLaren has ever produced, delivering the purest possible driving experience.

“This example is chassis number one, in addition to being one of just 149 in existence and shows a mere 8km on the odometer, meaning it is presented in factory-fresh condition.”

They added: “An outstanding example of McLaren’s innovation and expertise, the Elva remains one of the most ambitious elite performance cars of recent years.

“A machine that is equally at home blasting down backroads, being pushed to the limit on the track or even just being admired on display in a collection.

“As such, interest in this wonderful model is anticipated to be extremely high.”

It goes under the hammer in Monaco on May 11.
