The 35-year-old was back playing after announcing his premature retirement back in 2021 as a result of heart issues that arose during a match for Barcelona.

But after getting the all-clear to participate in the legends’ game he was unable to get more than 11 minutes under his belt after his shoulder POPPED OUT.

The Man City icon was driving towards the box with the ball under his spell when he fell to the ground after a tackle from Juan Eduardo Eluchans.

The tumble saw Aguero slam his shoulder into the turf and subsequently leave the pitch and watch the rest of the clash from the bench.

Although the former Argentina international seemed in high spirits when he smiled at a touchline reporter and said: “I think my shoulder came out” while making his way off the pitch.

The short cameo for Independiente comes over 20 years after Aguero made his debut for the club aged just 15 in 2004.

And the five-time Premier League champion has hinted at a retirement U-turn to finish his career at the club which is now managed by former Man City teammate Carlos Tevez.

Speaking on TNT Sports before the legends’ match, he said: “Two days ago I did another study and everything went very well.

“Now I’m going to Madrid because I have a tournament, and then to Mexico and the United States for other tournaments. And now I’ll see how I am.

“One never knows but the excitement and the desire is always to return.”

However despite Aguero being keen on a potential return to football after his heart arrhythmia diagnosis, he has made it clear that fans shouldn’t get excited about the dream becoming a reality.

He added: “I don’t want to excite people in that sense. The first thing I want is to be well.

“The desire is always there, I understand that they are excited and I am too, but I don’t want to excite people.”

Independiente boss Tevez has made it clear that the door will always be open for Aguero to return.

He said: “Who doesn’t want to have Kun. I do – first as a team-mate and now as a coach, even if it was just for 10 or 15 minutes.”

Aguero made 56 appearances for Independiente as a teenager scoring 23 goals in the process.
