‘That’s insane’, say fans with thousands of tickets for Spurs vs City still available with Arsenal’s title hopes on line

FANS are astonished at the number of tickets available for Tottenham’s clash with Manchester City.

Many Spurs fans are conflicted by Tuesday’s match against Pep Guardiola’s side as they know a win or draw could hand the title to North London rivals Arsenal.

And many on social media have pointed to the amount of seats still available on the ticket exchange as an example of Tottenham supporters not wanting their side to win the match.

Tickets for junior members are available to purchase for as little as £40 less than 24 hours before kick-off.

The available seats have been put on by season-ticket holders, but the owner of the seat can still go if it is not snapped up.

Yet that has not stopped many from reacting on X to the host of available tickets.

One said: “If anyone needs an indication of how the match-going fanbase feels about the game tomorrow night, here’s a look at the ticket exchange… Going to be a strange old night in the ground.”

Another added: “The empty seats for Spurs home game against Manchester City tomorrow. Arsenal fans, we might have to do something…”

A third replied: “That’s actually insane 😭😭.”

While a fourth responded: “Oh yikes. Never seen anything like it in this stadium. Especially against a top team.”

Despite talk from many Tottenham fans about wanting to lose the game to avoid an Arsenal title triumph, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has insisted they are focused on getting a result.

He said: “I understand rivalry. I was part of one of the biggest ones in the world in the last couple of years with Celtic and Rangers.

“But I’ve never, and will never, understand if someone wants their own team to lose. That’s not what sport is about. It’s not what I love about the game.”

The Australian then went on to add: “Real success looks like trophies. Anything else in between, bragging rights, whatever, it is absolutely meaningless to me.

“What do you think is going to happen? What do you think we are going to do as a team, or any team on this planet? Aren’t we going to just try to win? It’s a simple premise.

“How that makes people feel, I’m not really fussed and I don’t really care.”

Arsenal sit one point clear of Man City ahead of the champions’ game in hand against Spurs.

A win for Guardiola’s men would see them move two points above Arsenal heading into Sunday’s finale.

Arsenal host Everton in their last match of the campaign, while Man City play at home to West Ham.
